All My Precious Time

I wanted to write about all my projects in a book. I couldn't put it in a single volume. In 2019, I wrote Le tout de mon temps (t/n All My Precious Time) and 3 morceaux de mon temps (t/n 3 parts of my time). The second book dealt only about 3 projects, while it was as long as the 33 chapters of the first book. I wrote about everything.

I asked my sisters and some of my girl friends to read Le tout de mon temps. Some enjoyed it but many didn't really enjoy to read it. They found that the mix of personal stories with stories about creative process was too disturbing, and there were also other reasons.

I sent it to eight publishers who were not interested. I didn't go further. I knew I had to go back to editing it completely, it was necessary.

Writing Le tout de mon temps was a key step in the creation of my website.

And in 2024 I wanted to publish Ma vie cylindrique (t/n My cylindrical life). I discovered BoD (Books on demand), the printing-publishing company that enabled this project (several publishing companies rejected the project). From then on, I found the ideal way to tell about my to read projects: a collection of short books –   still in development –  entitled Engouements (t/n Keen interests). Therefore, there would be TO READ projects as well as TO SEE projects on the website.

Now I am aware that there were too many TO SEE projects in Le tout de mon temps.

Le tout de mon temps won't be published in its initial form.

I would like to keep its introduction, at least on this website.

Le tout de mon temps

If I don't take into account the time when I sleep, eat, drink, wash, dress, undress, take care of my health (at the doctor's, at the dentist's...), of my body (with massages of all sorts, waxing, doing my make-up, cutting my nails...), when I'm in the toilet, when I'm on the phone, at the library, at work (including on my computer), when I go to a lesson on whatever subject, do sport or some kind of sport, sew, DIY (this list is only about my grown-up life), do the washing-up, clean, tidy, do the dishes, prepare the meals, read, surf the web, watch TV or a video, go to the cinema or to an exhibition, to a concert, a show, a performance, go shopping, or use a paying service (a shoe-repair shop, the dry cleaner's, the print shop...), when I walk or take the transports to go somewhere, rest doing nothing, see friends, family, or other people (apart from the time I spend with people to work on a project), and the time I'm with my daughters or my lover (apart from the time, the two or the four of us, spend creating something), in Paris or somewhere else, you will find, in these pages, all about my precious time.
